What is an Empath? An empath is someone who can feel what another is
feeling. On the positive side, this can be used to help the persons
being helped, help themselves. On the negative side, if they become
sympathetic, with the one they're trying to help, they can become
totally identifing, with the one they're trying to help;
instead of one hurting, now, there are two.
Empathy means allowing the other person to experience what they're
experiencing, without taking away, their ability to do so, so they find
the way to help themselves, in the interaction, with the empath.
Sympathetic means you get down in the gutter with them; you do not
help them help themselves, but you now need help, in working through
this, yourself.
Respect, who you're trying to help, to be able to work through
theirselves, and don't need you, to do it for them. You are to guide,
and allow them to walk through the doorways, you open, or not. Its
their choice.
